Yesterday at the Vassar Invitational the girls finished second place behind Fraser High School. Vassar’s final team score was 128.88. Helping the team to the second place finish were top all-around finishers Sydney Histed (Reese) in second place with 35.005 and Calista Bickel (Frankenmuth) in fourth place with 32.65.
Top finishers on vault were Bickel in second place (9.0), Histed in fourth (8.85), Adria Ray (Vassar) in seventh (8.475), and Madison DuBois (Vassar) in ninth (8.35). On the bars, Bickel came in second (7.95), Histed in fifth (7.655), and Lydia Chapelo (Caro) in sixth (7.375). Histed was the beam champion for the day with a score of 9.375, Hannah Findlay (Reese) tied for eighth place, and Courtney Kalkman (Reese) came in ninth (7.8). Finishing the day off on the floor, Histed came away with the top spot with a 9.125. Bickel also placed on floor with a sixth place finish (8.3).
The next meet for the team will be Thursday, February 14th in Vassar against Linden/Fenton/Lake Fenton.
