In the first game of the 2019 varsity baseball season, Vassar fell to Frankenmuth by a score of 8-7 via a walk-off single in the bottom of the sixth inning. After falling behind early, Vassar clawed back into the game to tie the game two separate times and even took the lead into the last inning before Frankenmuth hit a single with the bases loaded to give the Eagles an 8-7 win.
Aaron Bartels took the loss for the Vulcans on the mound in relief of starting pitcher, Jacob Preston, who allowed three earned runs in three innings pitched. The Vassar offense was paced by Max Kukulski who collected four of Vassar’s six hits. Luke Albrecht and Addison Hansard each had one hit in the contest.
