In the first game of a non-league contest against Lakers on Wednesday night, the Vulcans took the lead in the sixth inning and held on to win the game by a score of 3-2.
Aaron Bartels got the start in game one for Vassar but only pitched two innings due to arm discomfort. He allowed three hits, one run and had one strikeout before being replaced by Jacob Preston. Preston went 4.2 innings, allowing four hits, one run and striking out three batters before being pulled due to pitch count. Freshman Manee Mendham came in to record the last out of the contest and collect the save.
