Vassar Middle School football looked good at home against Memphis Middle School Thursday night under the lights. Vassar controlled the game all night shutting out their opponent for the third straight game and moving the ball for nearly 400 yards of offense. Layton Cartner led the offense with 3 rushing touchdowns and also passed for a score. Chevon Lesko, Trevor Gleeson, and Austin Long also ran for touchdowns. Austin Long caught Cartner’s touchdown pass to start out the scoring fest in the first quarter. The Vulcan’s offensive line controlled the game all night with every lineman delivering at least a couple of huge blocks for the backs.
