Last Friday night the Vulcans defeated Tawas 51-15 on parents’ night. The 51 points they scored put them at 398 for the season breaking the old record of 358 set by the team of 2011.
Offensively Vassar was led by Lamont Morrison who had 4 touchdowns on 3 receptions of 22 yards, 40 yards and 11 yards and a run of 5 yards. He also caught a pass for a 2 point conversion. He was the leading receiver with 8 catches for 126 yards. Also scoring were Zach Shepherd(5 yard run), Robbie Atwood( 2 yard run) Alex Hertel(9 yard run) and Kane Millikin recorded a safety. Jona Keller was 5 for 5 on extra point kicks. Tyler Humpert completed 20 of 34 passes for 240 yards and 4 touchdowns. Tyler now has 1930 yards passing for the year breaking the old school record of 1872 yards set by Mike Pratt last year. Alex led all rushers with 112 yards.
On defense Colton Fabbro had 7 tackles, Corbin Dundas and Jarvis Henry had 5 and Chandler Peplinski intercepted a pass.
Next Friday night Vassar travels to Ithaca to play the Yellowjackets in the first round of the playoffs.
